This forest preserves the most primeval semitropical forests on Amami Oshima, including the gigantic Hikagehego, or Flying Spider-Monkey Tree Ferns. It is a valuable forest native to Amami's unique plants and animals, some of which are designated as national natural monuments. Lucky visitors can encounter rare species in this place.
