Isson Tanaka’s Final Residence

Isson Tanaka is a Japanese-style painter who was attracted by the nature of the southern tropical islands in Japan and moved from mainland Japan to Amami Oshima when he was 50. He spent a very simple life working as a Tsumugi silk dye craftsman while he kept painting Amami's animals and plants before passing away at the age of 69.
