Amami Wildlife Center


This is a facility run by Japan's Minister of the Environment for a purpose to protect and preserve the natural ecosystem among the Amami Islands. The facility conducts various researches on inhabiting states of the rare wildlife as well as a series of mongoose capturing activities to preserve the natural environment from this man-introduced species. They promote understanding and interests to the general public on wildlife protection by using footages and displays. The exhibition pavilion is open to the general public.
