In addition to a general library, the facility has a collection of works by writer Toshio Shimao as well as books for children donated by a nationally-famed film director Yoji Yamada, both of whose works are related to Setouchi Town. The library also has a good collection of local materials that illustrate the area's local history and culture. The spacious area allows the visitors to find interesting books and materials at their own pace. The local museum on the send floor exhibits a collection of Shodon Shibaya (one of the nation's important folklore cultural assets) and Yui Honen Odori dancing (another essential folklore cultural asset designated by Kagoshima Prefecture), as well as tools used in religious rites. The exhibition including other pictures and visual materials that illustrate the history, culture, and traditional performing arts in Setouchi Town.
